Events
The Downtown Central Neighbourhood Association provides various events for community members living in downtown Brantford. We also help to promote local businesses in parter with the Brantford BIA. You will often see us out at community events at Harmony Square throughout the year in the Downtown Booth. We are always striving to provide events and opportunities to the downtown, if you would like to see other events in your community contact us under the contact section and tell us your ideas.
Downtown Community Clean Up
This was one of the first events the newly reformed DCNA organized and took part in, it was a great way to bring the community together and empower the children and youth living downtown. This is now a annual event run the Friday before earth day, starting @ Central P.S. and spanning the city blocks surrounding it.

Community Garden
​
The Downtown Community Garden is located at Central P.S. in partner with equal ground community gardens, and is a recognized site for Healthy Kids. When our garden was put in we had the largest number of volunteers in attendance for any graden in the city. The garden is open to all within the community, and is cared for by the students at Central throughout the school year and community memebers evenings and through the summer.

Janes Walk
​
Jane’s Walk is a series of neighbourhood walking tours. Named after urban activist and writer Jane Jacobs. When Janes Walks came to Brantford the DCNA knew they wanted to be apart of this and bring the communty lead walk to the downtown. This year will be our first walk and are looking to have this be an annual event. The DCNA will be having two groups walking two different routes covering the assists within the downtown leaving from Central P.S. and meeting up in Harmony Square for a celebration. The DCNA walk will take place on Friday May 2nd.

Youth Dances
​
The DCNA runs six dances every school year about every other month. The dances are held at Central P.S. and are open to any youth living within the community. Durning the dances there is snacks and pizza for sale, prizes for dance offs, spotlight dances and popular dance fads. Our dances have licensed security guards as well as a large amount of community members volunteering. We hold two dances each night for two separate age groups durning two different times.

Grades 1-4 after school from 330-5pm
Admission $3 only snacks and drinks sold.
​
Grades 5-8 from 6-9pm
Admission $5 pizza, drinks and snacks sold.

Street Store & Block Party
​
We have partnered with the street store to bring a street store & block party event to downtown. The street store is a free shopping experience for everyone. The brantford Street Store's mission is to provide previously enjoyed clothing, shoes, and various personal items for free to those who need them. The store ad block party operate twice a year, each spring and fall.
